Founder Professor Helio Gracie is the mastermind behind Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. At 135 lbs. Grandmaster Helio modified the traditional jiu-jitsu to work based on technique and leverage rather than speed and strength. He is the father of the famous Ultimate Fighting Champion Royce Gracie.

Tiger Academy is proud to be part of the Pedro Sauer Association. This association was founded by Professor Pedro Sauer, 6th degree black belt under Helio and Rickson Gracie. Professor Sauer is regarded by many to be one of the most technical jiu-jitsu instructors anywhere. He is the first and foremost jiu-jitsu instructor of Tiger Academy founder Sifu Eddie Camden. Mr. Eddie Camden is a Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Pedro Sauer. After being introduced to Professor Pedro by his good friend Frank Cucci, Mr. Camden relocated to Utah to train directly, full-time under Mr. Sauer. Mr. Camden has the distinction of being promoted to blue, purple, brown and black belt faster than any of Professor Pedro’s students. In addition to training with Professor Sauer, Mr. Camden has also trained with numerous Gracie family members including Royce, Royler, Rorion, Rener, Ryron, Ralek and Grandmaster Helio himself. He has also trained with Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist Pedro Valente and trained and taught beside Romero Calvalcanti.
